About Us - Our History

The Stick And Stem is a family business that stems from over 50 years ago!

Our family started out harvesting and selling Pussywillow Stems in Minnesota many years ago. Known as one of the largest Pussywillow stem providers in the USA!   From pussywillow stems, our product harvesting grew to many of our natural products that grow here in the Midwest. White Birch products like birch twigs, branches, logs and poles, Red Twig Dogwood stems, widely used in fall and winter arrangements, Pine Greens, a popular product used in Holiday decor and wreath making, and many more all natural products that grow here in the Midwest.

All over the USA our products can be seen in vases, artwork, celebration gatherings, movie sets and more! We have a very keen eye for the Rustic Decor look and the products that bring this look.  Here in the Midwest our climates and grounds provide the best environments for our products to sustain and be harvested.  We also enrich our grounds with new plantings every single year to ensure a rich natural environment for growth of all of our products as well as safe grounds and habitat that support our local wildlife.

Much of our hand harvested products come from downed trees from windstorms and natural falling of trees. We rarely ever cut healthy trees of any of our tree/wood products.   Our harvesting and cutting of all of our products is done in ways that promote the new healthy growth of trees, bushes and etc.

Everything we sell comes from our own farms and woodland properties across Wisconsin and Minnesota. We cut each log, branch and stem ourselves, sort it by hand for color, shape and character, and bundle it for the people who bring it to life: home decorators, wreath makers, florists, event stylists and crafters.

Our product shelf is simple, popular by season like Fall & Winter and our products are widely used during holidays like Christmas.  So, be it your a crafter, a florist, or maybe a holiday wreathmaker, our White birch logs, poles and branches, red twig dogwood, pussywillow, pine boughs and mixed vase-filler bundles, are all each available in the lengths and stem counts you need.

Many of our products are harvested and sold by season, so be sure to check back regularly as our product lines change frequently!  You will notice our online store changes from Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. We stive to provide the best in all natural products that come from the Midwest USA!

We also provide wholesale options for large bulk orders. We regularly work with large wholesale florists around the USA and have been for many years.  If you are a seeking information on wholesale and large orders please send us a message and we will get back to you right away with information options.
